Passive fire consulting services

Empowering building excellence

Our team is dedicated to ensuring your project’s fire containment addresses build-ability and remains compliant with all legislation and Australian standards, specialising in compliance inspections and certification.

Inspection

To comply with the Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulations 2008, the occupier of a building must ensure each prescribed fire safety installation for the building is inspected and tested at regular intervals. This includes all current and new passive fire installations and penetrations. Our certifiers can carry out these inspections and show you how to maintain compliance from then on.

Certification

All passive fire installations in a building must be certified as complying with the Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulations 2008. Our inspectors can advise on what is required when constructing a new building BEFORE incorrect work is carried out, and prevent costly mistakes. Once completed, it’s a simple process to have the works certified with a required Form 12.

Our certifiers are licensed in the areas covering passive fire walls and ceilings, penetrations, and joint sealing.

Baseline Data

Baseline data is important to have to avoid unnecessary updating and recording of building data. Where baseline data is not available, it can be re-established at the commencement of a routine service, maintained and readily available at the premises. Our inspectors create a register of passive fire penetrations and provide assistance to maintain the data for the future, reducing the cost of future inspections.

Project Management

Often after the preparation of baseline data, or inspection of passive fire installations, rectification work is required. Our team can price and scope all rectification works required and then manage the tender process through to completion, supervise the repair work and ensure compliance and certification.

Build For Compliance

To avoid costly rectifications, invest in pre-planning to ensure the compliance of your project. Our certifiers will work with your QA team, Building Certifier, and Fire Engineer upfront to ensure everything is done correctly the first time. Through careful system selection and implementing an inspection regime to identify defects and resolving them as they occur, you can ensure an effective and smooth handover of your building or project.

Consulting

As with any legislation, engaging experts who can advise on the most efficient and cost-effective methods for compliance makes good business sense. Our team of certifiers and advisers can provide guidance before works are completed to avoid unnecessary rectifications, during the process to ensure works are on the right track, and can certify works for compliance with all relevant legislation after completion.

On an ongoing basis, we can help you ensure compliance by maintaining registers and gaining certification on works when new penetrations or works occur.

For new builds, we can assist in the selection, approval and installation QA, liaise with Building Certifiers, Fire Engineer, QFES etc., to ensure full compliance on hand over.  This can save enormously on costs, and provides peace of mind.
